Wow, Time Flies!!!

The days have been going so quickly. I guess they are just packed full of stuff I never realized that it's been a while since I posted.

I have a date set for the new arrival around 39 weeks, thank God, now I can plan, plan, plan and maybe make a list or 2 to make doubly sure everything is ready.
Everything is fine on the baby front. I am exactly 35cm and that corresponds with the weeks so he is growing normally.

The heart beat is strong and he will not stop kicking my ribs or putting his butt in the air. I am still suffering from heartburn but hopefully he will drop soon and I can finally get over it.

This weekend was Holly's 30th birthday. I wished her a happy birthday in my prayers and prayed that she help watch over Allison & Scott jr. because she loved them so much. I really miss her.

We also went to Gloria's dance competition. "Dancing Fun" is all we heard on the way home from Allison. I think she enjoyed herself. (I will post pics of the dance tomorrow, I am tired and need to get some rest).

I have a really busy day planned tomorrow and for Wednesday as well.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.

5 Weeks to Go!!!

If you haven't noticed I am really excited about the arrival of our new baby. The count down started a while ago but now that I only have a few weeks left I REALLY have to get everything ready.

I decided on a jogger stroller so I am buying that with a new moby wrap since I need one for the hospital (breast feeding is so much easier with a wrap).
I finished the BIG grocery list. I plan on going shopping next week and prepping all the food for a month.

I am still trying to figure out sleeping arrangments for everyone. We have plenty of beds but Allison switches from her bed to the crib every 3 nights or so. I guess she isn't quite ready to give up being the baby yet.

Isn't she so fancy in her "my fancy my dress" that is Allison speak for my fancy dress.

I see you!!!

Have a great day, now I am off to vacuum before Allison comes home.

Making Memories

This weekend was full of surprises and happy memories. I even got all the things on my list for this weekend done, and I didn't vacuum once...hehehe.

On Saturday we had dinner over at Helen and Lance's house.

Scott's cousin got a job at the local brewery so he and his wife are moving back to Chico. It was a nice celebration.
Allison always has fun over there & absolutley loves Helen (maybe because she serves ice cream for dinner but, that's just my guess).

On Sunday I received an email from my older sister Tammy. I haven't seen her in almost a decade. She was in town and wanted to meet Allison and catch up . I was nervous about seeing her again since it has been so long but, I gave her a call and we had a nice visit.

When we pulled up and she got out of the truck, I almost lost it. She looks SO much like Holly, could be her twin. Even talking with her was like talking with Holly, mannerisms and life experiences.
We talked about Holly and the last time we talked to her & cried a little bit, Dad and our Moms, the places we live, family, Allison and the arrival of Scott jr., trying to fit a decade of life happenings into an hour or so is difficult, but I think it was a good start.
Allison had no problem warming up to Tammy.

Tammy & Allison

Holly & Allison
Maybe because of the resemblence. What do you think???
Either way it was nice for them to meet.

I am really glad that I had the chance to reconnect with her. I will not lose touch again.

I have to say it was a great weekend.
Did any of you have any surprises this weekend???

Friday, Hooray!!!

I have waited all week for Friday to come.

This is what I want to do this weekend.

I want to sleep in until 7:00.
I don't want to do any housework or laundry.
I want to take Allison to the park.
I want to make waffles for breakfast.
I want to take an afternoon nap without interruption.
I want to be lazy and rub my big baby belly.
I want to cuddle on the couch with Allison and watch Cinderella or Snow White.
I want to eat steak with potatoes and something green.
I want to snack on M&M's - the regular kind.
I want to drink 7up and juice mocktails.

But this is most likely how the weekend will end up.

I have a feeling we are going to be really busy, Allison will probably wake up at 6am, I will be too tired to make waffles, it will be too hot to go to the park, I know I will have to vacuum at least once this weekend (with a toddler you have to do it at least once or twice a day), I will forget to pick up some M&M's at the store, Allison will want to watch Olivia instead of Cinderella and my afternoon nap will not happen because Allison will refuse to sleep, making me pull out the last of the brown hairs on my head, because "DARN IT MAMA WANTS TO NAP, AHHHHHHH!!!!" but you know how it goes mommies are not allowed to nap.

Either way the weekend ends up I am just very happy that we get to spend it together and enjoy our time spent doing whatever we can as a family.

Have a great and relaxing weekend.

6 More Weeks

We have about 6 more weeks until Scott jr. will be arriving.

Everyone who has kids knows when you get closer to the due date strange things begin to happen, like cleaning the house and yard like a mad woman. I guess it's part of nesting or something written in our genetic code that makes us clean freaks for the last few weeks. Which ever it is, I am glad to have these sperts of energy. Without them the house would look like a hurricane with little sticky hands blew through.

I am fearing the hospital stay or should I say the coming home part. Leave Scott and Allison alone for 20 minutes while I cook dinner and every crayon, marker, toy, doll and blanket are in the living room. Not to mention the dirty socks and shoes lying in the middle of the living room.
Here is a mild example...

Leave them home for a few days, I can't even imagine what the place will look like.

I am trying to get everything as prepared as possible, since I am a list making super planner. I have had an ongoing list since the begining of July. Everything from birthdays to baby showers to hospital packing are on that list. I have also made a menu list and grocery list for all the things I need to prepare for a months worth of freezer foods. And there is a page of super easy recipes for Scott to make when I am just too tired.

I have cleaned all the closets, donations of used clothes and shoes just left the house, Allison and Scott jr.'s room is organized, I have started packing the little things (toiletries, nursing bras and camis, gift for Allison and some snacks), car seat is installed, and all the new baby clothes, blankets and sheets are washed and put away.
In 3 weeks I will cook and freeze meals, deep clean the house and closets again, wash things I never even tought to, and probably donate more useless things I hold onto for some reason or another.
In 5 weeks, well lets just say this phase isn't pretty. I will probably start some super huge project that has to be done that day or I will just flip out, like digging up and resoding the lawn or maybe clean and remodel the entire garage because it just can't WAIT 3 MORE YEARS!!! Or maybe get on the roof and scrub the tiles, because a dirty roof OMG!!! It needs to be clean when the new baby comes home!!! He will totally notice if it's not!!!
Maybe I will be chill and relaxed and just ready for everything to happen...who am I kidding, that will never happen. I will probably vacuum the house the day I come home from the hospital because I am anal like that...

Have a great day!!!

Barbie Girl, 33 weeks & Potty Training

This weekend we set out to purchase a carseat. After much research I chose the Graco Sung Ride 35/32. If everything goes to plan (which usually doesn't) we should be able to use the car seat until Scott jr. is 1, switch him to the car seat Allison is in now and buy a booster for her. Let's hope it all works out.

While at the store Allison headed over to her favorite place...the power wheel cars!!! She can't resist having her own car so she jumped right into a pink Barbie car and pretended to drive. She really wanted daddy to take the car out of the display and let her drive it. No way, I don't want her driving around the store crashing into everything.

She also had her first potty training success...she pooped in the potty all by herself. I was so proud of her and she was so proud of herself, just beaming from ear to ear when I clapped and gave her a few M&M's as a treat (to encourage her to do it again).

I also had another prenatal appointment today. I am 33 weeks, 6 more to go. I pick my due date at my next appointment. I heard his heart beat, very strong. He is kicking and moving all the time. Fundal height is right on target. Everything is going great. We are all excited to see our new baby!!!

Here is my belly at 33 weeks.

Wednesday

After, what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend, we are finally back into the swing of things.

Scott & Allison enjoyed Cinderella for the 1,000,001 time on Sunday morning.

We also bought the mattress for Allison's big girl bed and she has slept on it every night since we put it all together.

This is the room as a whole, 10x10. A little crowded but it will work for a few years. We also have a bit of work to do in here, hang the mirror and Allison's purse rack, get a few new baskets to hold toys and such and put the crib back together.

We got Scott's old tricycle out of storage and she has been riding (having mom or dad push her around) it nonstop

I have also started to preserve the tomatoes from the garden. It sure does take some time but it is SO worth it. I peeled and diced about 2 pounds of tomatoes to freeze. And I started drying the cherry tomatoes to keep through the winter.
I was going to can them but with a 2 year old running around it is kinda hard to dedicate that much time. So drying and freezing it is.

As part of the nesting process I have started to clean out closets. I am getting rid of about 10 pairs of shoes (if any one is interested in them, sizes range from 5 1/2 - 6 maybe a 7 in there, all you pay is shipping I will send them to you), maternity clothes that don't fit this time around and a few other odds and ends.

Now I am off to hang towels and pick more tomatoes and peppers, have a great day!!
