Happy 4th of July

Just wanted to say Happy 4th of July to everyone.

We have been relaxing and having fun dispite the heat.

Today we went to 1 mile and enjoyed a watermelon ice and wandered around looking at the great things they had for sale. I also bought Allison this cute tutu.

I just love it and it only cost $5. I talked to the lady for a bit and she only sells then at some occasional booths around town. She had so many other cute things I wanted to buy like hand knitted purses, fairy wings, necklaces, soaps, crowns flowing with ribbons, but didn't have the money...boo.

Afterwards we went home and took Allison swimming. She played while we picked veggies for dinner out of the garden, which we grilled and had with our steaks...yummy.

Our nextdoor neighbor, Neta, gave Allison a flag which she absolutley loved and carried it all around the backyard, even into the pool, oops.

We have played lots of Rock Band with Allison. We set it up for no fail so she can sing or play guitar and she's not bad for a 2 year old...at least with singing.

After an hour of that we went outside to let off fireworks. They were so wimpy and uneventful, they seemed so much better when I was a kid, oh well.

Allison really liked them for about 5 minutes then the WOW wore off and she played with her wheelbarrow and hid in her house.

Taking a Break

For those of you who actually read this blog, I am taking a break until sometime next week.

I have tons of stuff piling up that needs to get done and I just need to get away from the computer for a while. I am spending too much time reading blogs and just playing around.
I have a family that needs me, a baby shower to finish planning, Allison wants to just swim, swim, swim and I also have to get her birthday stuff ready (it's in 15 days and I still haven't sent out the invitations), & Scott, well he just wants to play video games....

I need a few days to just center myself and get back into the whole housewife/mommy routine. You know planning meals, baking cookies, playing with the kid, going to the park, taking a picnic somewhere, just enjoying the wonderful summer weather not cooped up inside.

I will see all of you next week, have a happy & safe 4th of July!!!!

Baby Ballet

A local dance acadamy has a baby ballet class for 2-3 year olds.
Today Allison went to her first and only class (she is not quire ready for the structure of ballet).

She was by far the youngest, still not too sure about what to do...she loves to freestyle dance, and didn't want to participate very much. When she gets older we might try again.
She had fun, none the less, with the activites she did do.

Everytime Miss Becca brought out some new props to dance with, Allison would push her way to the front of the circle and have a seat, when she got the item she brought it right back to mom then asked for iPod

Here is the only dance she participated in, The Rainbow Dance, she must have known it was the last one because she was ready to go home afterwards.

Hope you all have a wonderful Fourth of July Weekend.

27 Weeks, I Think

Last time I was at the Doctors office I had asked her how many weeks I am, I just can't seen to remember. I know I am getting closer to 30 weeks because I had my glucose test done today.

Totally YUCK!!!! For those of you who have never had the privlige, let me explain. You get to the clinic and as you are filling out paperwork you have to drink some really sweet liquid (purified water and glucose). You also get a choice of orange or lemon lime. This time I chose lemon lime, with Allison I had orange. After that the nurses set the timer and you ahve to wait there for an hour, then get blood drawn. Bring something to do because you don't get to leave and you have to fast the night before, so get to the clinic early so you are not starving all day.

Afterward, I went home and cleaned some then watched a few episodes of Say Yes to the Dress season 4. I am getting ideas for Allison's wedding already...hehehe.

Tomorrow we have a busy day, so I will be posting some time in the afternoon. All of us a gearing up for the 3 day weekend. Our plans don't include much, bbqing, fireworks, swimming, lazing in the sun...the usual stuff.

I will see you tomorrow.

What A Weekend

Talk about being busy...this weekend takes the cake.

Friday afternoon we got Allison a new pool so we spent the later part of the afternoon relaxing by the pool and having some snacks.

On Saturday we started off the morning with yard work, trimming the jungle took about 2 hours. Then Scott proceeded to replace the leaky faucet in the bathroom which only require one extra trip to the hardware store for some parts that decided to leak after we replaced the faucet, you gotta love older homes.

After that we all got ready to go to a birthday party for Scott's Aunt, and 2 Cousins. It was alot of fun. We weren't going to stay long because Allison hadn't taken a nap but she just had to be the center of attention and started to dance. Helen and Allison danced to a couple of songs, then Cassie and Stephanie joined in. There was a circle of people around Allison and the Birhtday girls, when the song ended everyone clapped and that encourage Allison to keep going. At around 8 o'clock we left and she fell fast asleep, and slept until 9 the next morning. Poor thing was pooped out.

Sunday, my Parents came for a visit. We all met at my Grandpa's house and visited for a few hours. It was nice to see everyone. Grandpa is leaving to go back to Texas next month so it was nice to catch up with him. My Aunt and Uncle also came over to visit. It was really nice having the family together.

Thursday

Allison & I didn't have anything planned today. So we just hung out and ran a few errands. We were completly out of fruit and farmers market isn't until Saturday so we ventured to the store and bought some bananas, strawberries (which aren't too bad) and some blueberries.
When we got home she watched The Country Bears for the 1,000th time while jumping on the couch. I did dishes and picked up the house.

I finally got my butt in gear yesterday and started on my lists. I finished my hospital packing list, the freezer meals list and some IRA contribution tax stuff done. Pretty decent...I still have a few more lists to make and then I have to start crossing things off said lists but I have about 14 weeks left so that should give me plenty of time.

This afternoon, mind you it is like 95 here, I pulled weeds in the garden while Allison played in the hose. When Scott got home we did some yard work. He got the spot ready for our apple tree and we talked about the pond filter and pump we have on order.
We have alot of these little guys around the yard and garden.

Every 7 years or so the come by the thousands. It's hard not to step on them or mow them up. Right now they are pretty mild but next year they will be everywhere.
We introduced Allison to her first frog...she didn't like it.

After it landed on her shoe she wouldn't wear them anymore. Being two, she probably didn't realise she was sitting in the grass where there are hundreds more of them hopping around.

Hope you had a wonderful day!!

It's A Boy !!!

In a previous post I mentioned that I spilled the beans and let it be known that we are having a boy.
Allison how do you feel about having a baby brother???

I had a prenatal appointment yesterday and received my birthday planner. It's full of information about the hospital stay, what to pack, what to expect at the hospital, where to check in...etc. It is a nice refresher. I was also saddened by the fact that my Doctors last day is next month, but she has to move on and I will be seeing the other Doctor in the practice. I am not worried though, he delivered Allison and I have complete faith in him, but I will miss my Doctor she was so great and got me through my first pregnancy with no problems.

Next week I go in for my glucose test, YUCK!!! You drink that sickening sweet beverage, wait around for an hour and get blood drawn...boring. You also have to fast for the test, super hard when you are always hungry.

It's hard to believe that he will be here before we know it and there are tons of things I still need to get ready.
I have made 3 detailed list - because I love my lists- on what needs to be purchased, cooked and frozen and washed and put away.

I have plans to have the baby shower on the 25 of July, I still need to get the invites out, and Allison's birthday is on the 17th & I still need to get the invites out for that.

I am so busy, every weekend is jam packed full of activities so everything I have planned is done through out the week. I am so thankful to be at home with the kids or it would be near impossible.

I hope you all have a wonderful day & I leave you with a series of photos taken by my soon to be 2 year old
