Have A Holly Jolly Christmas

WARNING!!!! LOTS OF ALLISON PICTURES

On Saturday we went to Grandma H's house and decorated cookies. It was messy fun. Allison did a great job putting the sprinkles on the cookies and licking the frosting off. She also ate the legs off a few stars but the sugar sprinkles she put on the tortilla chips made them much better tasting than the cookies.

This was a masterpiece...

Of course Daddy and Allison

Allison put these antlers on herself. We found her head banging with them on trying to get the little bells to jingle on them.

Merry Christmas Everyone !!! I will be back next week with all the Christmas festivities we enjoyed, God bless you all and hope you have a great Holiday!!!

Grandma & Grandpa B

Grandma & Grandpa B came to visit yesterday to celebrate Christmas with us. We don't get to see them often so it was a really nice visit. I really miss them and wish they could come down more often or move here so they can see Allison all the time. We had a nice time and Allison just loved them and all the presents they brought. She was also showing off alot, somersaults, talking, laughing and dancing. It was fun.

Allison got to open one present and she picked the biggest one they brought which turned out to be dress up princess clothes.

She had a blast trying on all the stuff and walking around dressed as Snow White.

My mom told me that Allison would start playing in the box because there is nothing better than a card board box...she was right.

That evening I packed up the princess stuff and put it back under the tree. While I was making dinner I hear some rustling and presents being moved. I peek and saw Allison moving presents so she could get the princess clothes back out.

And to sit in the box one more time.

Thanks for coming to visit Grandma & Grandpa. We love you!!!

Stay tuned, I have a great post with lots of pictures of the cookie decorating party we went to at Grandma H's house...I love Christmas!!!

Great Grandpa

My Grandpa, Allison's Great Grandpa, came over for brunch on Sunday. I had so much fun talking with him and looking at pictures. Allison really loved him and liked to show off just a bit.

And here we are all snuggly looking at pictures.

My Grandpa also gave me a couple of pictures he took while in Texas. They are of his Air Force outfit. He was part of the 1st Air Commando that fought in Southeast Asia. He flew the L-1 and the L-5 planes in WWII and I am very proud of him.

I had a great time listening to him and really enjoyed having him over. I know Scott & Allison didn't mind either.
I hope all of you have a great day!!

December 10, 2009

Nothing is going on. I am working very part time to help out my family during the Christmas season. Wrapping gifts and packaging things. Really helps to mix things up a bit.
I am making a few scrapbooks, more like brag books of Allison. 20 pictures in each book just of her. She loves looking at them and there are quite fun to make. I got a few 6x6 scrapbooks at Michael's along with some paper and cut out things. They are going to look so cute.

I thought I would share a few of our decorations. Nothing elaborate (at least not this year)I always over do it on the food. Always something delicious and fattening and alot of it.

This is our tree. A fake one with leftover tinsel from the first year we had it, I can't seem to get the stuff off. I even tried vacuuming the branches...didn't work. So there the sparkly tinsel will stay for years to come. I usually do white lights but for some reason colored light seemed so much more fun this year so I used them.

This is our manger. It stays up year round as the pieces are only 1/2 inch tall. It is from Spain and I just love it. It always puts me in a good mood when I look at it.

This is Allison's picture with Santa. She had a fit and never stopped crying even when she tried to say bye-bye to Santa. She did it through the tears...what a trooper. I never laughed so hard.

And here is our famous Christmas card. If you want one just email me with your address and I will be happy to send you one. For some reason the picture just seemed to fit our family perfectly, all of our favorite things in one picture...priceless

Getting Ready for Christmas

I am so excited for Christmas. The day after Thanksgiving I decorated the house, wrapped all the presents and I sent out all my Christmas cards today.
I love this time of year. All the family and friends visiting, the food, the liberal pouring of spirits and eggnog (which I love), the cookies and candies that I make every year, the holiday dinners, the time off from work, the cold weather, the warm fires.
Nothing could be better. I plan on thoroughly enjoying every minute of this holiday season and count my blessings that I have such a wonderful family and such great friends to spend this time of year with.

Now I would like to share with you some of the wonderful holiday things we have been doing.
Allison is now old enough to actually sit down and watch 5 minutes of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and another 5 lying on the floor doing some pilates moves, if only mama could be that motivated.

Allison also helped me with wrapping some presents. If you have never done this with a toddler I suggest you never do. Unless you want smashed boxes, ribbon every where, some little one stealing the scissors and trying to run away with them (I think she tried this about 100 times), hiding the tape under her bum right when you need it the most and she doesn't understand "honey could you get me the tape" , drawing with permanent marker on a chubby leg which by the way wasn't mine and about a million and one little things that seemed like a good idea to her but made it such a mess for me. It was fun and really got me into the Christmas spirit.

I also moved furniture around and got a new table out of storage. Allison can now sit right at the table with us and enjoy the adult conversations and laughter. And she really likes it.

And one last note here, my little rockstar gymnast dancing singer is such a ham. Posing for the camera at 16 months is just about the cutest thing in the world, especially when she wants to look at the pictures of herself everytime she sees a flash.

I hope you all have a great day and are having as much fun as I am gettin Christmas stuff ready.
