Screaming Mimi

I don't know if anyone who has ever had children had to or have to deal with something like this. I took 2 classes in high school that talked about babies and children and a parenting and child development class...no one ever talked about this... EVER!!! The problem is winding down and she rarely does it anymore but for about 6 months straight she did it every single day. It made my ears bleed at one point. I am glad she is almost over it (I probably just jinxed myself by saying that). I hope you all enjoy your peace and quiet while we get to hear this...

I Could Have Danced All Night

I caught Allison doing the butt bounce. It is funny...she was a born ballerina.

Have a wondeful day!!!

New Heights

I will have to watch her very closely...

she can climb now.

And some sad news to report. Last night something came into the back yard and popped her pool. I was so sad this morning I almost cried...she has so much fun playing in it...

If finances allow it, I am going to get her another one along with a new Crock Pot because mine broke (I use it all the time too, and it has to go and break on me after all these years of use, while I was roasting a chicken...juices went everywhere, let me tell you).
Enough rambling... I hope all of you have a great day.

unfortunatly they had mustard on them.

Have a wonderful day.
Sorry for no post yesterday, we had our first play group and Allison had tons of fun, we are all meeting again, next week, I am glad they asked us back after Allison was going around taking the other kids snacks.

Our Weekend in Pictures

Scott & I drove to Reno on Friday for the day. I cried when we left that morning but, I did fine after 1/2 an hour.
Here is some of the great things we passed on the way, it was fun and I can't wait until Allison is older and we all get to go camping at one of the campsites (motels) up there.

"tow truck parade on Saturday...too bad we missed it"

"mmmm...road food"

"an old church someone was living in"

"a garage in Vinton, CA, thought it looked neat and vintage"

We also went to a neat little park close to our house. I have never been there before with Allison, she really enjoyed it and loved watching the kids.

Daddy helped her down the slide

here is miss dare devil going down alone

"I love lamp..."

Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend, I have bunches more to share with you so come back tomorrow.

I've Fallen & I Can't Get Up

I have a funny movie of Allison falling over. As it happens babies fall down all the time trying to do some creative movements or attempting to turn around in some cool fashion like Allison was doing. Don't worry, she wasn't hurt and she never cried once.
Prepare yourselves for the funniest movie ever to be filmed
"Why her name isn't Grace" Starring Allison.

She actually got stuck under the toy and couldn't get up. I did have to turn off the camera to help her up, but you don't see that on the film. I couldn't figure out how to hold the camera and pick her up at the same time, otherwise would have seen some awesome mommy heroics going on. I was like the Greatest American Mommy.

Some other amusing pictures I have taken lately which I find rather funny. I hope you all enjoy and have a wonderful weekend, I am out of here, well at least until Friday afternoon.

Wednesday

I don't have too much to say, just trying to get everything ready for Friday. Scott & I are going out of town for the day and it is the 1st time without Allison. Grandma is coming over to babysit, I know she's excited.
I am so nervous and sad and excited. I know I am going to cry and miss her but we will only be gone for the day. I think I will be ok.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Suzie Homemaker Jr.

Allison has figured out how to use the little popper thing that rolls around like a vacuum. I figured she learned how to vacuum from watching me so many times. She is a multi tasker extraordinaire, watches tv and vacuums at the same time. She is awesome.

Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend and have a great day!!!

Who's Your Daddy

We have been trying to get Allison to say dada. We finally know who her favorite parent is...see for yourself.

Sorry dada, mama is #1
Have a wonderful day.

Mother's Group

I have joined a local Mother's group and so far it is great. $30 a year is not a bad deal for all the stuff they offer. I am glad I did it, not only for Allison but for me too.
I am really stepping out of my comfort zone here and trying to keep cool while I email other moms to set up play dates and activities and hope they don't think I am weird when I put parenthesis around (my daughter) because they can't figure out that Allison is my daughter, right? I have to make it clear.
DON'T WORRY MOMS I AM NOT WEIRD, well not really weird, maybe a little.
Anyway, I am waiting to hear back from one mom so Allison and her son can get together for a date. She's only one and I have her going on a date, what are moms for, huh?
I hope it works out and I don't blow it and get too nervous and drop out. I don't want to become a Mother's Group flunky. I keep reminding myself that it is for Allison and it is for fun and I am not trying to impress anyone. But I have a lingering question in the back of my mind...Should I get my hair done before I go to play group because you know how one year olds can be so judgemental.

Mom, what did you do to your hair??

Have a wonderful day.

Corn & Tomatoes

I know I am always talking about the summer produce in California and how good it is. I love it, so fresh and healthy and tastes so awesome, better than any in the supermarket.
This post is going to be no different. I purchased some corn from the farmers market and it was so sweet, we ate it the same day it was picked. You can't beat that. I finally let Allison have at it and she caught on rather quickly. Here is how to eat it off the cob by Allison.

And these tomatoes are so delicious and juicy. You will find us out in the backyard sitting under the shade tree eating just picked tomatoes like apples.
All of these came from my garden and it is the first year we have had such a good crop.
Never mind the wine in the background, I am becoming a wine snob of cheap wines. Ask me about Boones Farm and I will tell you it goes with anything.

I hope you all had a great weekend and a wonderful day.

E-Pro

Last night we played Rock Band 2, we are a wild bunch! Very exciting Friday night, I know. Anyway, right before Allison goes to bed she gets as much playing in as possible and that's when she stood in front of the TV and started to sing along while daddy played E-pro. Daddy sang a bit and she sang along. It was so cute. Enjoy Allison singing E-pro by Beck.
