27 Weeks, I Think

Last time I was at the Doctors office I had asked her how many weeks I am, I just can't seen to remember. I know I am getting closer to 30 weeks because I had my glucose test done today.

Totally YUCK!!!! For those of you who have never had the privlige, let me explain. You get to the clinic and as you are filling out paperwork you have to drink some really sweet liquid (purified water and glucose). You also get a choice of orange or lemon lime. This time I chose lemon lime, with Allison I had orange. After that the nurses set the timer and you ahve to wait there for an hour, then get blood drawn. Bring something to do because you don't get to leave and you have to fast the night before, so get to the clinic early so you are not starving all day.

Afterward, I went home and cleaned some then watched a few episodes of Say Yes to the Dress season 4. I am getting ideas for Allison's wedding already...hehehe.

Tomorrow we have a busy day, so I will be posting some time in the afternoon. All of us a gearing up for the 3 day weekend. Our plans don't include much, bbqing, fireworks, swimming, lazing in the sun...the usual stuff.

I will see you tomorrow.

What A Weekend

Talk about being busy...this weekend takes the cake.

Friday afternoon we got Allison a new pool so we spent the later part of the afternoon relaxing by the pool and having some snacks.

On Saturday we started off the morning with yard work, trimming the jungle took about 2 hours. Then Scott proceeded to replace the leaky faucet in the bathroom which only require one extra trip to the hardware store for some parts that decided to leak after we replaced the faucet, you gotta love older homes.

After that we all got ready to go to a birthday party for Scott's Aunt, and 2 Cousins. It was alot of fun. We weren't going to stay long because Allison hadn't taken a nap but she just had to be the center of attention and started to dance. Helen and Allison danced to a couple of songs, then Cassie and Stephanie joined in. There was a circle of people around Allison and the Birhtday girls, when the song ended everyone clapped and that encourage Allison to keep going. At around 8 o'clock we left and she fell fast asleep, and slept until 9 the next morning. Poor thing was pooped out.

Sunday, my Parents came for a visit. We all met at my Grandpa's house and visited for a few hours. It was nice to see everyone. Grandpa is leaving to go back to Texas next month so it was nice to catch up with him. My Aunt and Uncle also came over to visit. It was really nice having the family together.

Thursday

Allison & I didn't have anything planned today. So we just hung out and ran a few errands. We were completly out of fruit and farmers market isn't until Saturday so we ventured to the store and bought some bananas, strawberries (which aren't too bad) and some blueberries.
When we got home she watched The Country Bears for the 1,000th time while jumping on the couch. I did dishes and picked up the house.

I finally got my butt in gear yesterday and started on my lists. I finished my hospital packing list, the freezer meals list and some IRA contribution tax stuff done. Pretty decent...I still have a few more lists to make and then I have to start crossing things off said lists but I have about 14 weeks left so that should give me plenty of time.

This afternoon, mind you it is like 95 here, I pulled weeds in the garden while Allison played in the hose. When Scott got home we did some yard work. He got the spot ready for our apple tree and we talked about the pond filter and pump we have on order.
We have alot of these little guys around the yard and garden.

Every 7 years or so the come by the thousands. It's hard not to step on them or mow them up. Right now they are pretty mild but next year they will be everywhere.
We introduced Allison to her first frog...she didn't like it.

After it landed on her shoe she wouldn't wear them anymore. Being two, she probably didn't realise she was sitting in the grass where there are hundreds more of them hopping around.

Hope you had a wonderful day!!

It's A Boy !!!

In a previous post I mentioned that I spilled the beans and let it be known that we are having a boy.
Allison how do you feel about having a baby brother???

I had a prenatal appointment yesterday and received my birthday planner. It's full of information about the hospital stay, what to pack, what to expect at the hospital, where to check in...etc. It is a nice refresher. I was also saddened by the fact that my Doctors last day is next month, but she has to move on and I will be seeing the other Doctor in the practice. I am not worried though, he delivered Allison and I have complete faith in him, but I will miss my Doctor she was so great and got me through my first pregnancy with no problems.

Next week I go in for my glucose test, YUCK!!! You drink that sickening sweet beverage, wait around for an hour and get blood drawn...boring. You also have to fast for the test, super hard when you are always hungry.

It's hard to believe that he will be here before we know it and there are tons of things I still need to get ready.
I have made 3 detailed list - because I love my lists- on what needs to be purchased, cooked and frozen and washed and put away.

I have plans to have the baby shower on the 25 of July, I still need to get the invites out, and Allison's birthday is on the 17th & I still need to get the invites out for that.

I am so busy, every weekend is jam packed full of activities so everything I have planned is done through out the week. I am so thankful to be at home with the kids or it would be near impossible.

I hope you all have a wonderful day & I leave you with a series of photos taken by my soon to be 2 year old

Favorite Pictures

Today I am sharing a few of my favorite random pictures, I hope you like them.

Ok this is a no brainer, my pregnany belly. I am now about 25 weeks or so, I still have 3 months to go and I am already this big. I am healthy and happy so that is all that matters, and by the way, I spilled the beans so we told everyone we are having a...BOY!!!

These pictures are few and far between. It is really hard to get a picture of Scott & Allison together without her crying for fussing so these are a few of the good ones.

She loves to help. Everything I do, she wants to do too, so she was helping me put the groceries away...everything into the fridge and on the bottom shelf. That's where it all goes according to her.

I love this picture. She brought the potty out into the kitchen all by herself. She grabbed Dad's Gameboy and had a seat right there in the kitchen. It cracks me up beacause it reminds me of someone I know...

Have a great day!!!

I Think She Likes It

We went out for some Chinese food on Saturday it was so good, just what the baby ordered.
The next morning while I was making oatmeal for Allison, she snuck into the fridge and pulled out the leftovers. She immediately brought them to Dad,

who told her to give them to Mom to open. And I did.

I let her eat Chinese food for breakfast,

she absolutely loves it...the chow mien especially.

And the container of the super sweet & not even sour sauce, I found her dipping her finger in that and licking it off. I wouldn't let her have that, she popped the lid off herself and began to eat singing yum, yum yum while walking around the house, that's when I realised what she was doing.

Have a great day, I certainly am going to try.

A Morning to Myself

Right now Allison is still sleeping. I can not tell you how long it has been since she hasn't gotten up at 5:30 with us, so it is nice to have some quiet time this morning. I really wish I was enjoying a cup of coffee.

Today I am starting off my super cleaning and will last all week. I am preparing for the new baby and making things sparkly and clean (even though I have about 3 1/2 more months). But I have a lot to do so might as well start now.

The week looks like this:
Tues. - Allison's Room - store old clothes, shoes & toys, wipe down walls, clean windows and screens, dust, vacuum
Wed. - Master Bedroom - dust, vacuum, wipe down walls, clean windows & screens, dust ceiling fan, store some stuff
Thurs. - Living/Dining Room - dust, vacuum, rearrange bookcase,

get rid of old books & magazines, get a few new house plants, clean out dvd cabinet, wipe walls, clean windows & screens

Friday - Bathroom - toss all old medicines & unused items, wash towels and rugs, clean light fixtures, wipe down mirror, counter tops, sinks, and shower, wipe walls and doors.

The kitchen will have to wait until Monday.

I am going to finish cleaning out the drawers and cupboards. Donate a bunch of stuff, pledge the cabinets, you know, finish the job I started about 2 weeks ago.

Well I hope you enjoy your day, I can't wait to get mine started, I have got the cleaning bug something fierce.

Saturday Yardwork

If you have read this blog for a while you would know that our yard is quite full of vegetation. The pictures don't do it justice.
Anyway, yesterday we all woke up early and headed outside to do some serious yardwork before it got too hot.

Allison loves being outside and in the garden with all the "tomamos". I dressed her bumpkin style cause it just fit and I didn't want her messing up any good clothes cause she can get really dirty.

She also got to drive with Daddy, which she absolutley loves and begs to "more drive" when we get in the car. She even wants to wear her seatbelt...smart girl.

>

Today we are just kicking back, watering the yard and maybe taking Allison swimming or to the park. It's gonna be hotter to day, almost 100 so we are going to something early this morning...like a 3 mile walk

I had finished putting some beer in the fridge for Scott and put the box aside to take out to the recycling bin when I looked over and saw...

Reallly Quick

To give a quick update, my poor Allison had to go to the Doctor this morning because she woke up and was coughing so hard and crying "ouchy, ouchy". I felt so bad so I called the Dr. office and they had us go in at 10am.

Thank goodness because she is coming down with bronchitis. Poor angel.

We filled her prescription, and bought some juice for her. When we got home I thought I could give her the medicine all by myself...big mistake. I filled the dropper, squeezed it in her mouth and she barfed all over me, the floor, her shoe and shirt.
I dropped everything and was catching barf in my hands while she tried to walk away. I felt so bad for Allison because it really sucks getting sick, yet disgusted because I was walking around with barf in my hands (I think they still smell like it)
Thank God I am not suffering from morning sickness anymore.

After that she curled up in bed and is now fast asleep.

Tomorrow I am waiting for Scott to get home to help me with the medicine.

I hope you all have had a more pleasant day.

The Weekend

We had such a busy weekend it really feels like we had no time to relax.

Saturday Scott had to work so Allison & I went to the farmers market and bought some cherries, blueberries and strawberries, they were all delicious. They are already gone...all of them. After that we went to the mall and walked around looking at baby things and clothes for Allison. She had a blast on the escalators and just running around in there. Lots of things to look at.

Sunday Scott had plans to help his buddy so we went to Costco early, had lunch, then Allison and I hung around the house. She would not take a nap, so she was a bit grumpy.

Today, well everyone has come down with something except me, KNOCK WOOD. It is really awful. Sorta flu like, snotty, sore throat, tired, achey. Allison has been crying for the last hour and a half. And when Scott came home for lunch he looked like death itself. I feel so bad that he had to go back to work. Hopefully he can come home early and get some rest.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, did you do anything exciting???

The First Day of June

It was finally warm enough to take Allison swimming again. She loves the pool and will stand in there shivering, refusing to get out. So I'm forced to roll up my pant legs and jump in to save my freezing child from hypothermia.

She had tons of fun though.

I also let her play with my old iPod shuffle. She loves it. The ear buds are too big so she holds them to her ears and dances away. It's nice to have some peace and quiet while she entertains herself.

Speaking of entertaining herself, guess who had to chase around a toddler for 2 hours yesterday?

Me, and you know why??

She decided she wasn't tired and needed to wear princess clothes and high heels. I decided to appease her and let her wear the princess dress to bed, but I found her peeking around the corner of the hallway to see what I was doing, smiling and giggling. I marched her back to bed, put her into some jammies, laid her back down and put the baby gate up. Then I hear a thump.

What was that thumping sound, you ask?

Well she decided to get out her toy box and empty the whole thing out, play with the noise maker table thing and get into the drawer with the "tiny baby" hat and booties in it. She also emptied all her princess clothes out, dragged the chest over the the baby gate and stood on it so she could look down the hallway.

After the 2 hours of thrashing her room she climbed herself into bed and covered up, falling fast asleep for half an hour.

Thank goodness, a little more quiet time for mom to relish in before new baby comes.
