Born to Read

I have a natural born reader. When I was pregnant I was always reading to my growing belly and it paid off. She loves her books. I have dozens of them within her reach. Unfortunately she has me read the same ones over and over again...oh well, soon she will be reading to me.
I just love these pictures I captured of her reading, just like the Byrnes side of the family...hehehe.

After her nap, you can always hear her in her crib reading or trying to pull books in there with her.

Chico Palio

I don't know what the palio is, something to do with horses, but we tagged along with grandma on Saturday to check it outIt was interesting. Lots of local people in booths handing out info, some dancers from a local ballet company, the childrens choir. It also kicked off the start of Artoberfest. Allison had a blast watching the hip hop dance group. She was bouncing around in her stroller to the music.
We walked around, checked out the horses that schools, communities and business volunteered to make and voted on the best one. Check out some of the creative ideas

Anyway, the weekend provided me with lots of cute pictures so let me melt our heart with the cuteness
enjoying the sunshine at the palio

eating with a fork, she ate all of her mashed potatoes in one bite

future climber or table dancer (hehehe), she was showing off for grandma

my favorite fairy picture, I can't believe how big she is getting

her new best friend, pooh bear blankie...she carries him everywhere, to the grocery store, in the car, out in the yard, through the mud, you name it & pooh bear goes along

Busy Day Yesterday

Yesterday while doing dishes I gave Allison a big plastic spoon. Soon she was off and being very quite then I heard the xylophone being played. I grabbed my camera cause I knew what she was doing. She was playing the xylophone with the spoon. So talented.

She played with some hats

Read a book to me

I snapped this picture, it's the only one you don't see my double chin in...hehehe, plus she is smiling

I took the bumpers off her bed and she has found out that if you stick your leg through the bars you can climb on the outside of the crib, she also got her leg stuck between the bars after her nap yesterday, knid of funny since she just laid there waiting for mommy to come to the rescue

After the long day she decided to climb on daddy's lap and chill out for awhile and give him some pointers on the game he was playing.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.

Fairy Princess

I was at the Dollar Store on Monday looking at Halloween stuff when I came across fairy wings. They were only a dollar so I got Allison some. They match the fairy skirt she got last year. She hates the wings but, I make her wear them cause she looks so adorable and this is the only time in her ife I will be able to dress her the way I want. Girly, frilly, fluffy, ruffly and bejewled...all the things that make you a girly girl.

I tell you what, this girl loves to pose. She is not camera shy. She has had a camera in her face since she was 1 hour old, maybe that has something to do with it, what do you think???

Done with pictures...just after I turned off the camera she was off and playing again, no crying.

So after she played fairy princess, daddy came home and they spent some time together. There is one thing that those to love, being a ham in front of the camera. Here is one of the cuter picture of those two...no faces made in this one.

Have a wonderful day.

Over the Weekend

We did, well not a whole lot this weekend. Scott took Friday off so it was a 3 day weekend, that was wonderful. Unfortunatley we ate out alot, pretty much everyday. Which to say was not very good for any of us, but it was a nice treat, never the less.

Here are somethings that went on this weekend.

feeding grandma with my mouth open cause I am showing her how to eat a puff

hanging around with daddy

ballerinas do love comfy chairs

sitting in my booster coloring

you didn't see that did you?

dropping rocks in the pond for the fish, they love them & baby fingers too

Fever

This morning (1 am) Allison woke up restless and could not calm down. I rocked her for a half hour before putting her back to bed and then going back to sleep myself.
She woke up this morning around 6 am and we took her temp, slightly elevated and so I called the doctor and had to cancel play group for today.
Well the nurse told me that there is a slight fever lasting for 3 days then moving on to diarrhea. Keep her drinking lots of fluids. If it progresses to the diarrhea she will have to eat the BRAT diet, go to the doctor and rest. I hope that the diarrhea will not happen but the joys of motherhood include the occasional sickness and sleepless nights.

Enjoy the day, I have to go get some liquids for my poor princess.

Good Weekend

On Saturday we all went out to lunch. Allison was such a big girl. She got to sit in a booster seat next to mom and got her own food this time. It was so cute, she even tried to color on the kids menu they gave her. And she drank her milk without a fuss.
On Sunday we had a family get together. Grandma Carol is visiting from Alaska so she came over for dinner and I cooked corned beef and cabbage. I have never seen Allison so interested in eating dinner. She was showing off her mad fork skills and drinking her milk again (from her cup). I couldn't beleive it, she ate almost all of the potatoes and corned beef and carrots.
Then last night I had dinner success again, she ate it all. We had chicken, pork and beans and coleslaw. She ate everything but the slaw. I am so proud of her and her eating is improving. Now if I can figure out some better snacks I think I will have a really great eater on my hands.

I have been busy lately, trying to get my other blog up and running.
Here are some rambling thoughts I just decided to type for filler so you all can see whats going through my head...
Play group has been cancelled yet again due to illness (it seems like these kids are always sick), I need to get to the store for some hot chocolate mix because I need some rich chocolate goodness, I am going to bake some brownies today and eat one.
It felt good to write that down, now I can see what I need to get done and what is not important.

Anyway, I have been slacking on my picture taking so I will leave you with this.

This is what my kid does when watching The Wiggles...she doesn't wiggle

she did end up dancing for about 5 seconds then grabbed her sippy cup and plopped back down to watch some more.

Writers Block

I have writers block. I can't think of anything exciting that has gone on this week. Instead I will make a list (because I like my lists)

things Allison is climbing on
1.the couch
2.the chair in her room
3.the box that I use as a table
4.the coffee table (almost)
5.her walker that has wheels so it rolls away from her when she tries

things Allison is eating
1.ham & cheese quesadilla
2.leaves & dirt from the garden
3.green tomatoes she picks herself
4.2 pounds of grapes (she ate them by herself in less than a week)
5.the hairball I was meaning to vacuum up (guess I don't have to now)

Allison's different tantrum styles that make us laugh
1.head flings back, arms flail
2.forehead on ground, scoots around
3.goes limp in arms and tries to drop to ground
4.fake cry and turns to parent that didn't scold her
5.stomps feet and flails arms like she's pissed

A few things she learned this weekend

Whiskey bottles are heavy

Hungry butts eat onsies

Wheelbarrow rides are fun

falling in to the pool is even funner

ending up with no clothes on is priceless

Twins

I pick out all the clothes for Scott & Allison to wear. So this weekend I decided to dress them in similar outfits.

My twins

I can never get Allison to sit still or pose cute for me. This is the best I could do, they are both wearing red t-shirts and khaki short, white shoes. SO CUTE.

We skipped play group, again, I feel a little guilty but daddy came home early this morning so stayed home to spend time with him. Right now we are just hanging out and enjoying the wonderful weather and playing video games. Later we are going to Home Depot ot Lowes to get some stuff. I am going to look at flowers and plants because I have big plans for the back yard and garden area for next summer so the planning has begun.

I hope all of you have a wonderful day & had a great 3 day weekend, I sure did.

Used Meat on Buns

I rented a cooking DVD from Netflix. It was Robin Miller's something or other, Quick Fixes or something like that. Anyway, I watched it with Scott because our instant Netflix took a poop and we couldn't get back online.
So we sat down to watch it and it was...boring and uninspiring and she "kinda looks like a zombie with makeup" he said. The food was normal food though. Leftover meat (used meat as Scott called it this morning) put on buns with cheese and broiled. Original, anyone who had ever been hungry and lazy has thrown a sandwich together like this, you don't need a cook on tv to show you how.

The greatest thing Scott told me though was and I quote "you should have a cooking show".
I know I cook and bake really well, but to say I can make better food than someone on the television, wow.
Now if it was a tv producer telling me that, I would be like "WOW, how much too cook used meat on buns with cheese."

Three day weekend starts this afternoon when Scott gets home. I am excited to have some time off from laundry and housework, but I am going to cook alot. Some gooey lasagna, grilling some burgers and serving it up with waffle fries and pasta salad, maybe some used meat on buns for something different.

Changes Again

Ok, well I am sorry for all the stuff that I have been doing to my blog, moving from one place to another but, I have decided to stick with blogger because I can upload movies and stuff, and it is much easier than wordpress.
My other blog though, Heed Eats will stay at wordpress.

So sorry again for all the confusion but I have alot of movies that I want to post eventually and who cares if my blog looks professional or not...it's a blog...not a TCS report, hehehe.

Anyway, back to normal around here. A three day weekend is coming up and we are bbqing and hanging out around the house doing housey things.

Last Sunday Allison had her first doughnut. DID NOT LIKE IT AT ALL...well she liked the custard filling, bu that's it. We didn't like it either. I ate half of mine and let out a big sigh...it was too much, I just can't see how people can eat doughnuts and soda for breakfast - totally gross, makes me ill just thinking of all the sugar, blah!
