Easter 2011 & Other Tidbits

Well I have to say that Allison and I are very similar in our picture taking abilities. As you can see I have a knack for taking really great pictures of the top of Scotty's head.

Allison is just as good, if not better, since she got a hint of brow in there.

Allison finally got her wish. It was just warm enough for us to break out the kiddie pool and have a dip. She was SUPER excited

Funny face picture, I don't think Scotty thought it was very funny.

He made up for it here. If you look closely you can see his new teeth.

Why the surprised look???

Nothing sweeter than a sleeping babe. The quiet is music to my ears...

Happy Easter 2011!!!

We ended up having 3 egg hunts. It was Allison's first Easter where she actually got the whole idea of finding the hidden eggs. She had a blast.
The first one was on Saturday night at Helen & Lance's. She had such a great time hanging out with her friend Arianna and loading up on sugar and ice cream cake. She crashed as soon as we got home, but only after we wrestled her into her jammies.

The next morning we weren't going to hide eggs until all the Grandparents arrived, but Allison slept later then normal so I hid a few around the house for her to find.
One rule, bunny ears are worn by all parties who find the eggs at our house.

Later when all Grandparents arrived, we had them hide the eggs in the backyard and garden while Allison and I waited in the house. That was a fun hunt. Eggs were everywhere. All of them full of delicious jelly beans. She found every one with the help of Daddy.

And for those of you worried that Scotty wasn't getting enough Easter coverage. Rest assured that he was happily sitting in the side lines with Mama making cutesy faces at everyone and everything that passed by.

The Copy Cat

Looks like Allison wanted a little attention.

Please disregard the fact that Scotty looks like a pillow case. I only have one Halo Sleep Sack in a floral print, left overs from Allison, that he fits into. They are pretty expensive so he will just have to make due.

Tons of Stuff

A visit with Great Grandpa was yesterday. He will be leaving soon so we had to see how he was doing and have him meet Great Grandson for the first time. It was fun a fun visit.

Mean face & happy eyes.

Ride 'em cowgirl!!!

This little one loves laying on his belly, he often sleeps this way.

Trying to get a good picture of both of them is nearly impossible, I take what I can get.

Sleepy head.

Her favorite silly hat.

Just relaxing...

with Aunt Helen!

This is just a glimpse of what has been going on. We have been enjoying MOPS, tonight we are going to dinner at our neighbors house and I have to start getting ready for Easter since the Parents are coming. Just super busy, but having fun.

Have a great evening.

Too Lazy

Right now I am being lazy. I have about a zillion pictures of the goings on around here yet I have no motivation to load the pictures onto the computer, edit and post them right now. I know you all would really like some new content and adorable pics, so check back tomorrow.

I also have a great little garden site that I started a while ago. Not much there right now, but it is planting season and I really have the bug to do a lot of yard improvements this season. I also went crazy taking pictures of the flora around here so those will be posted over there soon. Check it out, and please leave comments. I really am a novice gardener and could use all the help I can get.

A quick note, Scotty got to meet Great Grandpa today. Grandpa will only be here for a short visit then back to Texas, so it was great that he got to see him (I have pictures of this too, LAZY). Allison had a great time showing off and loved Grandmas room, she kept calling it her room.

Have a great evening I will have more tomorrow so be ready for a long picture laden post.

New Arrival

We had a great MOPS meeting today. All but 2 of the ladies at the red table (my table) had something going on the last meeting so we hadn't seen each other for 5 weeks or so. It was nice to catch up with everyone and chit chat about God and life.

It is really nice to be around such thoughtful Godly women. It really helps me build my relationship with God.

In other news, we went to the hospital to meet a new member of the family. Scott's cousin Tyler and his wife Gracie had a baby girl on Wednesday. We went up there to meet her and see how the new parents were doing.
Baby Danielle is so beautiful. She weighs 8lbs 2oz, about as much as Scotty, but she feels light as a feather and is so tiny.

Here is were I would put a really adorable picture of the new born, but I was too busy talking and cuddling the little bundle that I forgot that I even brought the camera...duh!!!

You really forget how little new born babies really are. She is so precious, if I was a bit younger I would probably have a few more little ones running around the house. But if it does happen again it will be a miracle from God.

The Start of Spring Cleaning

Well today kicked off Spring Cleaning. I really enjoy spring cleaning. Everything gets refreshed after being closed up all winter. To me, it is fun to clear out, dust off, and freshen up.

With two kids, who want to play outside when the weather is nice, it really is difficult to get everything done I would like to so I had to come up with a plan. I assign a room each day and list all the things I want to get done in that area for the day. Like today, It was living/dining rooms. So on top of the normal chores, like vacuuming and straightening up, I added organizing movies, games, toys; dusting ceiling fans and appliances, washing windows, clean fireplace, organize appointments and activities, etc.
I go around and do this for each room. I also add a few projects that I want to complete in each area (in the living room I added painting a few pieces of furniture) which I will complete if I have any extra time. On the given day I stick only to the room on the list and by the end of the week all the spring cleaning is done and the house is organized and fresh again.
Also, the work is done before lunch time so I can spend the afternoon playing with the kids and having a picnic.

last years garden, can't wait for home grown tomatoes.

I am SO ready for spring and summer. Spending my days outside playing and gardening and grilling sounds like a great time to me.

I'm off to plan tomorrows activities, have a great evening.
