Good Weekend

On Saturday we all went out to lunch. Allison was such a big girl. She got to sit in a booster seat next to mom and got her own food this time. It was so cute, she even tried to color on the kids menu they gave her. And she drank her milk without a fuss.
On Sunday we had a family get together. Grandma Carol is visiting from Alaska so she came over for dinner and I cooked corned beef and cabbage. I have never seen Allison so interested in eating dinner. She was showing off her mad fork skills and drinking her milk again (from her cup). I couldn't beleive it, she ate almost all of the potatoes and corned beef and carrots.
Then last night I had dinner success again, she ate it all. We had chicken, pork and beans and coleslaw. She ate everything but the slaw. I am so proud of her and her eating is improving. Now if I can figure out some better snacks I think I will have a really great eater on my hands.

I have been busy lately, trying to get my other blog up and running.
Here are some rambling thoughts I just decided to type for filler so you all can see whats going through my head...
Play group has been cancelled yet again due to illness (it seems like these kids are always sick), I need to get to the store for some hot chocolate mix because I need some rich chocolate goodness, I am going to bake some brownies today and eat one.
It felt good to write that down, now I can see what I need to get done and what is not important.

Anyway, I have been slacking on my picture taking so I will leave you with this.

This is what my kid does when watching The Wiggles...she doesn't wiggle

she did end up dancing for about 5 seconds then grabbed her sippy cup and plopped back down to watch some more.

Mother's Group

I have joined a local Mother's group and so far it is great. $30 a year is not a bad deal for all the stuff they offer. I am glad I did it, not only for Allison but for me too.
I am really stepping out of my comfort zone here and trying to keep cool while I email other moms to set up play dates and activities and hope they don't think I am weird when I put parenthesis around (my daughter) because they can't figure out that Allison is my daughter, right? I have to make it clear.
DON'T WORRY MOMS I AM NOT WEIRD, well not really weird, maybe a little.
Anyway, I am waiting to hear back from one mom so Allison and her son can get together for a date. She's only one and I have her going on a date, what are moms for, huh?
I hope it works out and I don't blow it and get too nervous and drop out. I don't want to become a Mother's Group flunky. I keep reminding myself that it is for Allison and it is for fun and I am not trying to impress anyone. But I have a lingering question in the back of my mind...Should I get my hair done before I go to play group because you know how one year olds can be so judgemental.

Mom, what did you do to your hair??

Have a wonderful day.

Play Date

Today we had a play date with the grandkids of one of Grandma Gloria's friends. They are older but Allison still had alot of fun. She ran through the sprinklers, ate grilled cheese sandwiches and juice boxes and had ice cream for dessert. She had a blast and fell asleep as soon as we got home. Exhausted...all of us (my sister Holly is here for a couple of weeks). Can't wait to get a play group together so she will have a few one year olds to play with.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

i hope her head doesn't grow anymore...i bought this for winter

Play Date

Today was so busy for Allison. She met a few new kids today and she had a blast playing with them. She went swimming, played in the hose, ran around naked after she decided to take off her diaper and try to put it over her head, she climbed up some stairs (which I tried stopping but to no avail, she did it anyway, now I can look forward to her climbing up the shelves). We also stopped by the farmers market and picked up a ton of fruits & veggies. I bought some cantelope, yellow watermelon, zuchinni, string beans and the first of the corn - I am eating that tonight - can't wait.
We are planning on another play date in a couple of weeks and we might stop over there in the coming week if time allows, I have my sister coming to visit and I want to spend some time with her and I still have to get everything ready for Allison's birthday.
Since Allison had such a great time with the kids, I am thinking about looking for a play group or something that we can go to or host so she can have a little fun with children her own age. Well, I am off to look.

Someone had a little too much fun today

Hope all of you had a wonderful day!!!
