Last Week

Sorry for lack of posts last week. I have been working on an article for a gardening blog I will be contributing to. Alot has been going on. Allison has revealed her lastest and greatest talent, as seen here.

All three of us goof off pretty much all the time, our motto "don't take life too seriously, you may never get out alive", here's what happened when we were playing around.

Also, this is what happens when you leave your child unattended for 5 minutes, it gets quiet and you know something that shouldn't be happening is...

With all the fun we had this weekend it's hard to believe Allison is teething. Not those wimpy little front teeth, but molars, 2 of them. Poor thing has drooled a gallon, hasn't been sleeping and is not eating very well. She is just in pain. Last night we gave her some infant motrin and she finally slept through the night, thank god. She is actually still sleeping, which is a miracle in itself.
It has been cold (todays high 71)(ok, for a California girl this is cold, just last week we were in the 90's and swimming), so I am getting out all of the fall/winter clothes & shoes. Changing the bedding to warmer comforters and getting out fall candles and decorating in fall colors. I know as soon as I am done it will be back in the 100's.
Fall, in fact the whole holiday season is going to be different. Last year Allison was still very new and didn't really know what was going on. But this year is going to be so much fun.I am excited about going to the pumplin patch this year, decorating for halloween and going trick or treating. At Christmas we are going to put up the entire tree and decorate in multi colors, not my usual silver and white. We are going to bake cookies and listen to tons of Christmas music, and have a huge family dinner. Our focus this year will be family and spending time with one another, not the presents, even though Allison is getting tons of stuff, I have been shopping for her since last Christmas.
Well, I have talked your ear off already, so I am gonna go. Enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

Born to Read

I have a natural born reader. When I was pregnant I was always reading to my growing belly and it paid off. She loves her books. I have dozens of them within her reach. Unfortunately she has me read the same ones over and over again...oh well, soon she will be reading to me.
I just love these pictures I captured of her reading, just like the Byrnes side of the family...hehehe.

After her nap, you can always hear her in her crib reading or trying to pull books in there with her.

Chico Palio

I don't know what the palio is, something to do with horses, but we tagged along with grandma on Saturday to check it outIt was interesting. Lots of local people in booths handing out info, some dancers from a local ballet company, the childrens choir. It also kicked off the start of Artoberfest. Allison had a blast watching the hip hop dance group. She was bouncing around in her stroller to the music.
We walked around, checked out the horses that schools, communities and business volunteered to make and voted on the best one. Check out some of the creative ideas

Anyway, the weekend provided me with lots of cute pictures so let me melt our heart with the cuteness
enjoying the sunshine at the palio

eating with a fork, she ate all of her mashed potatoes in one bite

future climber or table dancer (hehehe), she was showing off for grandma

my favorite fairy picture, I can't believe how big she is getting

her new best friend, pooh bear blankie...she carries him everywhere, to the grocery store, in the car, out in the yard, through the mud, you name it & pooh bear goes along

Busy Day Yesterday

Yesterday while doing dishes I gave Allison a big plastic spoon. Soon she was off and being very quite then I heard the xylophone being played. I grabbed my camera cause I knew what she was doing. She was playing the xylophone with the spoon. So talented.

She played with some hats

Read a book to me

I snapped this picture, it's the only one you don't see my double chin in...hehehe, plus she is smiling

I took the bumpers off her bed and she has found out that if you stick your leg through the bars you can climb on the outside of the crib, she also got her leg stuck between the bars after her nap yesterday, knid of funny since she just laid there waiting for mommy to come to the rescue

After the long day she decided to climb on daddy's lap and chill out for awhile and give him some pointers on the game he was playing.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.

Fairy Princess

I was at the Dollar Store on Monday looking at Halloween stuff when I came across fairy wings. They were only a dollar so I got Allison some. They match the fairy skirt she got last year. She hates the wings but, I make her wear them cause she looks so adorable and this is the only time in her ife I will be able to dress her the way I want. Girly, frilly, fluffy, ruffly and bejewled...all the things that make you a girly girl.

I tell you what, this girl loves to pose. She is not camera shy. She has had a camera in her face since she was 1 hour old, maybe that has something to do with it, what do you think???

Done with pictures...just after I turned off the camera she was off and playing again, no crying.

So after she played fairy princess, daddy came home and they spent some time together. There is one thing that those to love, being a ham in front of the camera. Here is one of the cuter picture of those two...no faces made in this one.

Have a wonderful day.

Here are somethings that went on this weekend.

Fever

This morning (1 am) Allison woke up restless and could not calm down. I rocked her for a half hour before putting her back to bed and then going back to sleep myself.
She woke up this morning around 6 am and we took her temp, slightly elevated and so I called the doctor and had to cancel play group for today.
Well the nurse told me that there is a slight fever lasting for 3 days then moving on to diarrhea. Keep her drinking lots of fluids. If it progresses to the diarrhea she will have to eat the BRAT diet, go to the doctor and rest. I hope that the diarrhea will not happen but the joys of motherhood include the occasional sickness and sleepless nights.

Enjoy the day, I have to go get some liquids for my poor princess.
